Kohli Named 9th in GQ’s “50 Most Influential Young Indians”

Virat Kohli has been named as one of the “50 Most Influential Young Indians: Artistes” by Global Quaterly (GQ), New York. The test cricket captain and multiple records holder, was the star of this year’s IPL season. He is famous for making news on the cricket field, as well as off it.

He’s a sports club owner, a fashion entrepreneur, an angel investor and a feminist. Kohli has become a metaphor for 21st-century India: ambitious and ballsy, brimming with talent and unencumbered by the previous generation’s tendency to play down its self-worth. –GQ

The New York based magazine also goes on to say that perhaps Kohli’s most laudable trait is that he doesn’t really care if you throw “bouquets or brickbats” at him.

Some of the other names featured on the list were of footballer Sunil Chhetri, filmmaker Ritesh Batra, musician Sahej Bakshi aka Dualist Inquiry, and popular actor Ranveer Singh.
